ABOUT US
Westlund Guidance Clinic accepts Medicaid, Medicare, and the majority of commercial insurances. We are also a service provider with Saginaw County Community Mental Health Authority (SCCMHA) for qualifying youth and adults, which can help lower consumer treatment costs while increasing consumer quality of life through community-based services.
Our clinic partners with Saginaw County Youth Protection and Can Council in Saginaw to provide treatment to their youth. We also provide outreach to schools. We currently provide these outreach services to Birch Run Schools, Chesaning Union Schools, Swan Valley, Carrollton, Zilwaukee, Merrill Park, Jessie Rouse, Jessie Loomis, Herrig Elementary, Kempton and Bridgeport Adkins Schools.
STAFF BIOS
Brianna Renno MSW, LMSW
Brianna is the Director at Westlund Guidance Clinic. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Social Work from Saginaw Valley State University and her Master of Social Work Degree from Michigan State University. She has experience treating a number of mental health diagnoses including the treatment of serious emotional disturbance children, adolescents, and adults. Additionally, Brianna has experience with individual therapy with children and adults who have been through trauma and other difficult situations in their lives.
She has worked with individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, and psychosis. Brianna is a member of the trauma team through the Children’s Trauma Assessment Center where she conducts assessments for children in order to gain an understanding of how a children’s traumatic experiences have impacted their social emotional and cognitive development. Brianna oversees the Children’s Outpatient and Case Management, Enhanced Adult Outpatient, School-based Therapy, and Parent Support Partner Programs at Westlund Guidance Clinic. Outside of work, Brianna is actively involved in various community sports/activities and enjoys spending time with her husband and dog.
Shana Filkins LMSW
Shana is the Clinical Supervisor at Westlund Guidance Clinic. She earned her Bachelors of Human Services from Baker College of Owosso and her Master of Social Work Degree from Michigan State University. Shana has experience in the treatment of numerous mental health diagnoses and treatment such as individual therapy with children and adults with severe mental illness and co-occurring disorders.
She works with individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and trauma. She has experience working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Shana is state certified in Trauma Focused- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). This is specialized treatment to assist children, who have experienced life-threatening events, and their families find healthy ways to express the emotions that arise as result of the events. Outside of work Shana enjoys spending time with family and friends.
